Walhalla's Star Hotel was built in 1998 and opened in early 1999. It is a replica facade of the original gold-era Star Hotel, however the interior has been design to suit modern requirements.
Walhalla's Star Hotel features 12 suites. All have ensuites and king size beds. Our rooms can also be configured to twin beds (2 x singles) and 2 triple rooms are available. One bedroom [Black Diamond] is a full disabled access suite and access to the hotel is via a ramp with increased door widths for easy use by wheelchairs. Four rooms are located on the ground floor, please request a ground floor room if you cannot manage stairs.
All rooms are of the same standard, all that may differ is the room colour and "Black Diamond" is designed for wheelchair access.
All rooms either open on the verandah (1st floor) or onto the cottage garden (ground floor). There is a CD player and radio, writing desk and lounge. Sorry, we do not have television, but we do have an extensive CD and book library. If you're planning to come to Walhalla and then watch the footy...don't...it's all about leaving your day to day life behind and having a relax. Tea and coffee facilities are available on the 1st floor landing or in the lounge. You'll also have the use of a guest bar which works on an old fashioned honesty system. All rooms have heating and ceiling fans.
All rooms have Wi-Fi [$5 connection applies] and air-conditioning*.
Walhalla's Star Hotel does not have room numbers, we have name our rooms after some of the mines that surround Walhalla; Fear Not, Black Diamond, Grey Horse, Happy Go Lucky, Worlds Fair, Rising Sun, Lady Brassey, Wild Cat, Homeward Bound, Kitty Darling, Tubal Cain and Wealth of Nations.
